A workshop for teachers
Included in your Empowered Menopause Training course (or as a stand alone workshop)
Most yoga teacher trainings spend very little time on how muscles actually work, which leaves many of us unsure how to support strength in our students with real understanding and confidence.
This workshop fills that gap. You’ll gain a clear, evidence-based understanding of the role of muscles and strength in health and movement, learn what a yoga practice really trains and what it tends to miss, and come away with practical ways to bring meaningful strength work into your classes.
Â
The workshop is in three parts, followed by a skills-based practice.
Â
1. Understanding muscle and strength
What muscles actually do, the differences between concentric, eccentric and isometric contractions, the qualities of maximal strength, endurance and power, and the role of muscle as a pump.
-
2. Asana, the gaps, and how to add strength work
What a typical yoga practice trains, what the research shows is often missing, such as progressive load, eccentric control and speed, and how to include these safely in your classes.3. Why strength matters through menopause
How hormonal changes affect muscle, bone and power in midlife, and how to help your students stay strong, capable and independent in the years ahead.Skills-based practice
We’ll close with a practice that puts these ideas into action, so you leave with approaches you can take straight into your teaching.Book the workshop or join the Empowered Menopause Yoga Training and attend for free, as this workshop is the live opening day of the course.
